THE OPOPOP COMPANY
Opopop: a few key dates :
- 2010: The Opopop association is founded
- 2011:‘Rosie Rose’ is created.
This show laid the foundations for the company’s distinctive poetic world, blending object theatre, interactive set design and technical ingenuity.
- 2012: Production of the technically self-contained version of “Rosie Rose”.
- 2013: Creation of“Rosie Rose Baby”
A show for very young children, in which a simple walk in the park turns into a veritable odyssey.
- 2016: premiere of “Le plus petit Cirk du bord du bout du Monde”.
The company continues its exploration of stage design; this time, a meteor will serve as the setting for flying objects, puppetry and juggling from a world far removed from our own.
- 2017: premiere of the short version of “The Smallest Circus at the Edge of the End of the World”.
- 2018: creation of the technically self-contained version of “Le plus petit Cirk du bord du bout du Monde”.
- 2021: premiereof “On the Necessity of Gravity”, a poetic fiction addressing the climate emergency.
- 2025: creation of“Jongloria Multitaskus”, an offbeat lecture on the life of the juggler.
Over the past fifteen years, the Opopop company has performed more than 750 times, from Dijon to Taiwan, taking in national theatres, subsidised venues, big tops, cinemas, village halls and a circus centre....
KAREN BOURRE
Do juggling balls grow on fir trees?
A few years later, and not entirely by chance,
she found herself at Circus Space, the circus school in London, and became a juggler.
And then, one thing led to another:
the Gandini Juggling Project, Cirque Baroque,
the Pré-o-coupé-Nikolaus company, the Jérôme Thomas company (Rain-Bow, Sortilèges),
the Pok Company, the Manie Company, Cirque Ilya,
the juggling duo Have a Ball (28th Monte Carlo International Circus Festival, Le plus grand Cabaret du monde, Circus Krone, Nikouline…)
…
And then OPOPOP
JULIEN LANAUD
Julien used his conscientious objection to become a LIGHTING TECHNICIAN.
From 2000 onwards, he hit the road with numerous theatre companies, including, amongst others: Le théâtre de l’Éclaircie, Les Derniers Hommes, and Cie 9.81, FRAC Théâtre, and Cie Anxo, the Jérôme Thomas Theatre Company (Sortilèges, Le DUO, and ICI.), the Gandini Juggling Company (Smashed), as well as contemporary music.
In recent years, he has been touring with the show ‘ Der Lauf ”
and has been creating visual installations in every sense of the word.
For OPOPOP, he designs the lighting and creates stage sets full of ingenious contraptions and surprises.
And the entire team at the association’s office: Delphine, Audrey and Anne Laure
as well as all the members and volunteers
